Oldest stock exchange in the world. Amsterdam Stock exchange was founded in 1602 by Dutch (The Netherlands) East India Company (Verenigde Oostindische Compagnie) for trading it’s bonds.
It was merged with Paris Stock Exchnage and Brussels Stock Exchange in September 2000 into EURONEXT.
Index of Amsterdam Stock Exchange is AEX and now it is managed by Euronext Amsterdam.
In the AEX index listed such a major world companies, as: ABN AMRO bank holding, AH holding, Philips semiconductors and Royal Dutch Shell company.
